I want to start off by thanking all of the men and women who have served, and are currently serving, in our military. Without you we would not have the freedom or the blessings that we have. We take so much for granted but we must remember that freedom comes with a price. Thanks for all that you do! God bless you all!!!
Second, I want to update everyone on how we are doing as a "Family of 3", well 5 if you count Charlie and Bell but I think I'm the only one that thinks pets count. It has been 10 days since Grant and Denver came home and the homecoming was soooooo wonderful and very long awaited. Since then we have had alot going on in our lives as you can imagine. It took me a while to get adjusted to being in charge of someone else's life...it's kind of a daunting task. I don't think I or anyone else could've mentally or emotionally prepared me for what being a mother really means. It is just something that you have to experience on your own to truly understand. I know all of you moms out there are saying "we could have told you this", but I wouldn't have understood. Enough about me, now onto what you come here to read about...Denver.
Denver is doing so well adjusting to his new life, he is such a great kid. We are so blessed to have gotten such an awesome baby. I tell him all the time "I don't know how we got the prettiest baby in Ethiopia". I know boys are supposed to be handsome and not pretty but he's both. He loves to laugh and play with his dad and I love to watch them play together. We have had many "firsts" in our house these past 10 days. He rode in a carseat for the first time, took his first steps, he is saying mama and dada, he ate his first popsicle, went for his first swim and many, many more. Here are some pics of his homecoming and his first week at home. I'm going to try and update more often now that life seems to be getting a little more situated. Thanks for reading. God Bless America!!!

Look at that face and all those teeth! You really did get the most gorgeous baby in Ethiopia. I can't wait to get my hands on him. You better warn him that I'm coming to squeeze the crap out of him. :) Love you guys!! Give Denver (or Den-ber as Jackson calls him) lots of hugs and kisses for me!
ReplyDeleteWell of course you are a family of '5' everyone knows that. Glad to hear everyone is doing well and hearing mama and dada the first time is a wonderful sound for the 2 of you.... Keep up the updates or at least until you come back to work.. LOL Shirly
ReplyDeleteGod does work in our lives! He is AWESOME! We are so happy to have been able to spend some time with you and get to know that sweet, precious Denver!
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of Grant and Vanessa! Denver is going to grow up with such a love of God and His things because of the wonderful parents God blessed him with!
Remember to REST when Denver rests!
